Our family saw Hubbard Glacier calving in multiple places last July 4, 2019 and we were on the cruise ship, not an excursion boat. The glacier is much larger than we expected (thankfully) and it was loud.

Be sure to take a pair of binoculars with you. By constantly scanning the horizon you will see some of the calving from a cruise ship
