The San Juan reservoir is located along the Alberche river between the municipalities of San Martín de Valdeiglesias, El Tiemblo, Cebreros, and Pelayos de la Presa, at the south-eastern end of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, bordering on the province of Ávila.
