At Silver Springs there is an area that is specific for launching kayaks and canoes. It's very busy because of the rental business, but we launched from there with no problems and return there after we were done. It allows you to put you boat in the water and then hop in. Right next to the parking lot are plenty of grassy areas to inflate your kayak and get it ready to be launched.

The long ride isn't beyond my attention span and my friends say I have the mind of a 3 year old. There is lots to see, the guide is interesting, and you can point out the ample fish and birds. Hard to tell about a specific child, but other kids seemed to enjoy the trip.
