SALEM, Ore. (KATU) — Avelo Airlines announced it will close its base at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) by the end of 2025. The airline plans to reduce its operations to one aircraft on August 12, before fully exiting the base on December 2, 2025.

The airline informed the Statesman Journal that it is exiting the Salem market because it is closing its base in Burbank, California, by Dec. 2, as Airline Geeks reports. Its plan is to exit the West Coast market and refocus on the East Coast.

Avelo Airlines is extending its flight schedule at Concord-Padgett Regional Airport through the middle of next February. Before Wednesday, Avelo’s schedule for the airport in the Charlotte region ran through mid-November. The extension continues through Feb. 10 for the winter and holiday season.
