SLUBICE, Poland (AP) — Poland reinstated border controls on Monday with Germany and Lithuania following similar German restrictions imposed earlier this year aimed at discouraging asylum-seekers.

Sweden and Germany have already qualified for the quarter-finals after winning their opening two matches. However, the Blue and Yellow hold the top spot due to a superior goal difference and will progress as Group C victors by avoiding defeat to Germany.

Poland entered Switzerland as huge underdogs, especially since this is their first appearance at the Euros, and their first major international competition since the Algrave Cup six years ago. They had a tough time against Germany eight days ago before losing to Sweden, 3-0, on Tuesday.

The result means Sweden enter the quarter-finals as group winners, while Germany finish second and will face the top team from Group D – likely France or England – in the last eight
