Trump announced former acting DNI director Richard Grenell would lead the Kennedy Center. Board members received termination letters and their names were removed from the center’s website Monday.

President Donald Trump said Monday he is naming Ric Grenell, a longtime confidant already serving in multiple administration positions, to lead the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on a temporary basis after declaring himself the institution’s chairman late last week.

The president also purged 18 board members appointed by former President Joseph R. Biden Jr., who were scrubbed from an official roster on the center’s website, along with the chairman, David M. Rubenstein.
