They never trailed in the contest and led by as much as 18 points. Mikaylah Williams scored a game-high 22 points while Aneesah Morrow tallied a double-double with 18 points and 20 rebounds. Flau'Jae Johnson made a career-best four blocks to go along with 20 points.

Early in the game, each team saw one of its players get ejected for extra shoving following a foul call. LSU's Sa'Myah Smith and Oklahoma's Liz Scott left the contest with under five minutes to play in the frame. Both will sit out of their next games. Tigers' head coach Kim Mulkey said it was "shocking" to see Smith involved in an altercation.
