The International Skating Center of Connecticut will observe five minutes of silence Monday in memory of skating coaches Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov.

At 3:35 p.m. Monday, skating rinks across the country, including in West Hartford and Simsbury, held a simultaneous five-minute moment of silence for the 64 victims on American Airlines Flight 5342 and three on the Army Blackhawk helicopter.

The skating community is coming together to support one another following last week’s tragic American Airlines crash in Washington, D.C. 67 people were killed in the crash, including many with ties to the skating community.

The International Skating Center of Connecticut is bringing the community together to mourn the lives lost in a plane crash.
