Australia’s Nick Kyrgios believes that Iga Swiatek will now be considered a firm favourite to lift the US Open after her incredible run at Wimbledon. The 24-year-old lifted her sixth Grand Slam on Saturday as she defeated America’s Amanda Anisimova in straight sets with a score of 6-0,

Iga Swiatek is a win away from pulling off one of the most remarkable Grand Slam feats but she is keeping it pretty humble like always, saying that she never set winning a Major on all three different surfaces as her goal.

Per Al Jazeera, the Polish eighth seed, 24, defeated Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 within an hour, making history for the most one-tracked Wimbledon final in over a century. She has now officially nabbed the winning honors in all six of the finals she has competed in.

Iga Swiatek is the new Wimbledon champion, after overpowering Amanda Anisimova with a stunning 6-0, 6-0 victory. The 24-year-old secures her 6th Grand Slam title and completes the "Surface Slam" – winning at least one major on each surface.

Iga Swiatek took a moment during her post-Wimbledon final press conference to send a message to the Polish media as the new six-time Grand Slam champion slammed the treatment she received in the last couple of months and called for more respect going forward.
