Today's top weather news for Friday, Jan. 3, 2025: America's first high-impact winter storm of the new year is expected to bring over a 1,500-mile swath of hazardous snow and ice across the central and eastern U.S. this weekend and into early next week.

The Greater Cincinnati region continues to prepare for the winter storm that is expected to bring heavy snow toward the end of the weekend. In a social media post Friday afternoon, the city of Wyoming said it will have crews plowing and salting the streets once the storm hits.
