Sewduth was reacting to more reports of drownings over the weekend. At midday on Sunday, Amanzimtoti Main Beach lifeguards received a call of a drowning in progress at a non-bathing beach at Umgababa.

Amanzimtoti: Water supply to the CBD has been temporarily closed to attend to a leak on the 150mm main line on Kingsway Road between the Amanzimtoti River bridge and the Take and Pay traffic lights.
