Purdue attempted 13 more shots but Michigan outscored Purdue 18 to six at the foul line. Danny Wolf had 15 points and nine rebounds as Michigan got balanced scoring for its fifth straight win. Michigan’s last six victories have come by four points or fewer.

Michigan, which claimed the top spot with a 75-73 victory against No. 7 Purdue on Tuesday night. The 20th-ranked Wolverines (19-5, 11-2 Big Ten) avenged a 27-point loss last month at Purdue’s Mackey Arena and moved a half-game ahead of the Boilermakers in the conference standings.

As the saying goes — it’s not about how you start, it’s about how you finish — and Michigan basketball lived that mantra Tuesday. The Wolverines found themselves in an early hole, down by 11 in the first half.
