Well, after being rescued around 1 p.m. near the park's Mather Campground on the South Rim, the cat was eventually reunited with his family as of 7 p.m. local time Friday night.

“He made the guy that came over last night sign a waiver just to let him in the yard to get into the tree, which I can understand, but we’re just trying to get the cat down," Canales said.
