Using cross contour lines are a great way to focus on creating the illusion of 3D in your art, but as the artist Kenzo explains in the video above, beginners often draw them curving the wrong way.

The crossed lines represent a guideline to show this point of maximal projection, but if you were doing your own contour, you wouldn't actually buff in these gridlines on your face.
