Dairy Queen will return to Maryville this fall, introducing Blount County to the company's more recent endeavors of the DQ Grill & Chill fast-casual concept.

The company, founded in Illinois in 1940, now has 4,450 locations, of which about 40 percent are Grill & Chill restaurants. Almost all new locations going forward will be Grill & Chills, Mettler said.
