Google Chrome browser was first released in 2008. The icon design is a blue circle surrounded by three pinwheel-shaped slices. These three slices are green, yellow, and red colours.

Google announced that the lock will be replaced by a new “tune” icon with the release of Chrome 117 in September to help users better understand what its actual purpose is.
