It has an arching, spreading, cascading mound of grass that covers the ground. The only drawback to me is that it is deciduous. However, when it returns in the spring, it is a lovely sight to behold.

Ophiopogon, aka mondograss, is an evergreen low-growing, grass-like ground cover for shade or part shade. It grows in clumps but spreads by rhizomes to form a solid mass.
