How to Replace a Light Fixture - MSNAdd a grounding pigtail (or a 6-inch piece of bare copper wire) to the green ground screw on the fixture bracket. If using a bare wire, make a hook on one end and wrap it clockwise around the screw.
New outlets have a green screw to attach the ground to, white goes to the side with the silver screws (usually the same side as the ground is on), and hot to the gold screws.
