HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The city of Houston has put a home elevation company on notice after it was accused of taking thousands of dollars to help flooded homeowners and then disappearing.

But home elevation, while saving property owners money in the long-term, is a costly process. Such projects in Charleston typically start at $350,000, The Post and Courier previously reported.

City Council approved the first elevation of a single-family home in River Park, one of Naples' oldest neighborhoods. It will be funded with a state grant.
