A stabbing attack at a cultural center used by Ismaili Muslims in Lisbon, Portugal, has left two women dead. The attacker was shot at the scene, arrested, and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

In 2015, more than 40 members of the Ismaili community were killed in Karachi, Pakistan, when gunmen opened fire on a bus. Jundullah, a Taliban splinter group, claimed responsibility for the attack.
