We were reminded of that Sunday afternoon when Matt Rhule fired offensive coordinator Joe Brady not long after the 1 p.m. ET games had started during the Panthers’ lone off-weekend of the season.

Brady didn’t apply this approach when he was the Carolina Panthers’ offensive coordinator in 2020 and a dozen games into 2021. COVID made large, in-person gatherings trickier.

Brady took over as the offensive coordinator during the 2023 season when the Bills dismissed Ken Dorsey and he has overseen one of the league's most productive units during his time in the job.
