Over the past week, an app called Kimi curiously outranked well-known streaming services, such as Netflix and Prime Video, in the App Store's list of top free entertainment apps.
Kimi received more than 100 user reviews in the App Store, many of which blatantly mentioned the free movies hidden within the app, and it had a four-star user rating.
As The Verge points out, it's not entirely clear how Kimi worked. It's possible that the app was allowing users to stream movies from torrents. It's unclear how Kimi managed to survive on the App ...
