Two former Google Glass engineers have teamed up to create Gate, a smart lock which they are claiming to be the first all-in-one-solution to home access.

The large lock chamber at Lake Washington Ship Canal and Hiram M. Chittenden Locks will remain open to navigation through noon, Nov. 4.

Construction completion for this work at Lock and Dam 5 is expected in November 2028. This project is funded under the authority of the Rivers and Harbors Act of 1930.

Scaffolding was visible Tuesday at the main lock of the Melvin Price Locks and Dam 26 in Alton where work on a three-month project continues.
