Senate Republicans have blocked a Democratic resolution to require more transparency from the Trump administration about deportations to El Salvador.

U.S. Senate Republicans on Thursday defeated a Democratic resolution calling for a review of human rights in El Salvador, focusing on conditions at a maximum-security prison holding people deported from the United States.

The United States "is basically what we call home," Jose Alexander Trejo Lopez, 20, said on Thursday from El Salvador. He and his brother Josue, now 19, came to the U.S. at ages 11 and 10.
