The Charlotte Bobcats announced today that the team will utilize purple and teal as its primary colors when it changes its name to the Charlotte Hornets prior to the 2014-15 NBA season.

The Charlotte Bobcats are going to go back to being the Charlotte Hornets at some point and have reintroduced the purple and teal color palette for the team.

In honor of their founding year, and just in time for the Fourth, the brand will be dropping 1,994 limited-edition purple flag tees, and the color is just as intentional as the number of shirts.
