For the second year in a row, North Carolina’s official livermush festival, set for Oct. 16, has been mostly called off because of COVID-19. But the 36-year-old festival is carrying on digitally.

The 39th annual livermush festival was held in uptown Shelby on Saturday with vendors, music, livermush and contests.

The "NC Liver Mush Festival: Mush, Music & Mutts" takes place this Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It includes food trucks, kids' activities and more. Click here for more info.

The NC Fall Liver Mush Festival: Mush, Music and Mutts has been a mainstay in uptown Shelby for at least 30 years. Last year, COVID canceled the festival that celebrates all things liver mush.
