The drama has shifted to an abandoned film studio back lot, where contestants will face new challenges -- all inspired by the movies. Total Drama Action Season 1 aired on January 11th, 2009.

In the Total Drama world, each new season of the show was a spin-off — so instead of following Total Drama Island with Total Drama Island Season 2, Cartoon Network released Total Drama Action next.
