Storm Team 10 is monitoring several areas of tropical activity in the Atlantic Ocean but none pose a threat to reach the Gulf at this time. Hurricane Gabrielle is located east of Bermuda as it continue to gain strength.
Very warm waters, steering currents and other factors point to the Gulf of Mexico as the main area of concern for tropical development over the next couple of weeks, AccuWeather meteorologists say.
The Atlantic hurricane season continues through November 30, and forecasters still monitor the Gulf and western Caribbean for late-season development. But for most of Texas, especially inland areas and the southern coastline, the most dangerous stretch of the season appears to be ending.
