Avery Anderson was named director of both UCLA track and field and cross country in 2017, the third act of his Bruin career. Seven years later, that arc is reaching its conclusion.

UCLA track and field will make its debut for the 2018 season at University of New Mexico’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational on Jan. 19 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The UCLA women’s cross country and track and field programs reached an agreement with the NCAA to comply with a variety of penalties after acknowledging responsibility for recruiting violations.

Anderson, a UCLA alumnus, took over as Director of Track and Field in 2017 and has since led the Bruins to five men’s Pac-12 individual titles and seven women’s Pac-12 event titles.

USA Track & Field, Jesse Williams and Bob Kersee have two events scheduled for the Southland this year, May 6 at Mt. SAC and May 27 at UCLA.
