LAS VEGAS — Hugo Gonzalez turned some heads in Las Vegas this weekend with a strong debut for the Celtics in their Summer League opening matchup against the Grizzlies. It was unclear whether Gonzalez would suit up and play for Boston in Summer League after the team drafted him at No. 28 overall last month, coming off his season with Real Madrid.
Here are three takeaways from the loss. Rookies Cedric Coward, Jahmai Mashack and Javon Small all missed the game against the Celtics. Coward hasn't been with the Grizzlies in Salt Lake City or Las Vegas while he continues to get back to full strength recovering from a shoulder injury.
