In a game that was billed to be a thrilling rematch between two of the top teams in the nation, Ohio State flipped the script on both their season and their perception this year in a 41-21 demolition derby of the Oregon Ducks that sent them to the semifinals of the 2024 College Football Playoff.

• Oregon crushed by Ohio State, ending No. 1 Ducks’ season: Previously undefeated Oregon (13-1), which prides itself in physicality and mental toughness, was punched in the mouth from the start as 90,732 attended the 111th Rose Bowl.

The Ducks came into the game undefeated and left clobbered. Ohio State scored the first 34 points and rolled to a 41-21 victory over Oregon. The Buckeyes advanced to a CFP semifinal against Texas in the Cotton Bowl.
