The extended forecast suggests unsettled weather midweek, with rain probabilities ranging from 30% to 60%. There is some uncertainty about the exact timing and placement of the rain, but meteorologists anticipate widespread cloud cover and precipitation potential Wednesday through Thursday.

Minneapolis has installed hundreds of rain gardens, tree trenches and other green infrastructure in recent years, aiming to reduce flood risks and clean up stormwater before it reaches the city’s lakes and rivers. On the city’s south side, nearly 200 gardens were built along Grand Avenue in 2022 and more than 100 along Bryant Avenue in 2023.
Massachusetts was battered by a swath of heavy rainstorms this week, with some areas flooded under several inches of water. “This time of year, we get thunderstorms and rain events that produce very localized pockets of heavy rainfall,” said National Weather Service forecaster Hayden Frank.
Saturday morning will be cloudy but mostly dry. Pop-up rain storms will start in the mid-afternoon and continue through the early evening hours. Sunday is expected to be just as rainy in the afternoon. The rain threat will intensify as we start out the work week with storms rolling through south Florida on both Monday and Tuesday.
