A fundraising event has been held in memory of a teenager from Dorset who was reported missing last November. The disappearance of 19-year-old Gaia Pope sparked a major search.

The 6,000-square-foot space opened in 2018, just 200 yards away from Futo Buta. Shortino added a second location of the ramen restaurant in Asheville in 2019, but it closed during the pandemic.
