Sensata today announced its new Brake Pedal Force Sensor for electromechanical brakes (EMBs) that enables safer and better performing braking systems.

Brake pedal sensor data is like a biometric identifier, and researchers found the data can identify who is driving a car with 87% accuracy in just 15 minutes.

The new brake pedal force sensor can operate at temperatures up to 140°C and endure forces up to 600N, added Sensata. It also complies with functional safety standards up to ASIL C.
