Attorney General Pam Bondi has fired several Department of Justice (DOJ) employees who worked with former special counsel Jack Smith on two criminal investigations into President Donald Trump 's possession of classified documents and his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, Reuters reported on Friday.

The Justice Department has been firing dozens of federal prosecutors over their investigation of Trump in classified documents and Jan. 6 criminal cases before he was reelected president.

Those fired included lawyers, support staff and U.S. marshals, some of whom had volunteered for duty to investigate or prosecute Trump, one report says.
