Toone has scored five goals in three games since returning from injury at the start of this year, including the opener as United beat Brighton at Leigh Sports Village to move second in the Women's Super League. She had been ruled out with a thigh problem in November, that kept her out for the end of 2024.

Brighton broke a barren run of their own against Ipswich Town in their last match, with a 2-0 victory their first in nine Premier League games, stretching back to late November. The Seagulls beat United 2-1 with an injury-time winner at the start of the season, and will be keen to complete a league double over the Red Devils.
