As Gatlinburg Fire Department and Pigeon Forge Fire Department crews responded to the fire, the parkway was closed in both directions between Traffic Light No. 6 and the Gatlinburg Convention Center.

According to Public Information Officer Seth Butler, the Gatlinburg Fire Department and the Pigeon Forge Fire Department were dispatched to downtown Gatlinburg at 6:39 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9.
