Next month, developers will start building a controversial resort in Mt. Hartman National Park, one of the Grenada dove’s last sanctuaries.

The government of Grenada has lifted the protected status of its national parks in preparation for selling much of Hog Island, a refuge for the endangered Grenada Dove, to a resort developer.

Now, thanks to Grenada dove expert Bonnie Rusk, another Canadian, a compromise solution will allow the resort and the dove to co-exist.
