Police are launching a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead near a popular Collin County shopping center.

Along with the shopping center, Legacy West Urban Village includes 335,000 square-feet of office space and 621 apartments. CBRE previously managed the property.

"Welcome to the center of the universe," said Plano's mayor Harry LaRosiliere. "What makes this special is the sense of place created. "Anybody can build strip shopping centers," LaRosiliere said.

The massive Legacy West development will be home to Toyota, Liberty Mutual, and other large corporations, and it's all starting to take shape for anyone who drives by the area to see.
