A 73-year-old Kenyan grandfather reached into the mouth of an attacking leopard and tore out its tongue to kill it, authorities said Wednesday.

Shocking footage shows the leopard with blood around its mouth as it bares its teeth. Several men can also be seen fleeing the scene while dripping with blood after being savaged by the wild animal.

Sediment blocked the mouth of the river while a bacteria bloom drew out the oxygen from the water and suffocated the fish that were trapped upriver.

“Do you know a leopard can take three times heavy prey and can climb a straight tree,” tweets Indian Forest Service official Parveen Kaswan.
