An earthquake has hit southern Spain this morning, with reports that buildings were shaken by the force of the tremors.

The earthquake hit the Axarquía region in southern Spain - home to Malaga - and was felt in Velez-Malaga and Torre del Mar.

Areas including Granada, Málaga, Jaén, Murcia, Alicante and Albacete are believed to be affected by the incident, with tourists left panicked by the "incredible roar" early this morning.
