It was a warmer day than expected at Wimbledon on Thursday, and that led to multiple delays as Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova squared off during the first match of the day. During their first set, Sabalenka and Anisimova had to stop play twice after two different fans experienced medical episodes in the stands related to the heat.
The first day of the tournament is expected to be bright and sunny, perhaps a little too much. The weather guide is reporting a maximum temperature of 34°C on Monday, June 30. Clear skies with a high of 32°C is expected on Tuesday, July 1. The rains could play spoilsport on Wednesday, July 2.

There is a 'heat rule' in place at Wimbledon which will see a ten-minute break taken between the second and third set when the heat stress index is at or above 30.1C.
For American fans, the current temperature during any given Wimbledon match may not seem incredibly hot, but it can be a bit of an adjustment for patrons not used this type of heat in the greater London area.
