The potential for sleet or ice — and, yes, even snow — in Houston during next week’s freeze across Southeast Texas is becoming more certain as the weather forecasts for the coming days become clearer.

Long-range models indicate the chance of another arctic blast early next week, which could bring the coldest air so far this season.

For the second time this month, Southeast Texas will be on the southernmost edge of a massive surge of frigid arctic air spreading across much of the central and eastern United States as early as Sunday night,
