The Senate voted 55-44 to confirm North Texas native Scott Turner as leader of HUD, and he was sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

The U.S. Senate on Wednesday confirmed Scott Turner, a former NFL player and past Texas state representative, as secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

While Turner called HUD a "failure," he failed to tell Senate the ways he plans to combat issues including lack of affordadble housing.
