Connor Murphy was traded to the Edmonton Oilers by the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday for a second-round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft. The 32-year-old defenseman has 13 points (four goals, nine assists) in 60 games this season. He also led the Blackhawks in blocks (87) and was second in short-handed ice time per game (2:57).

The Edmonton Oilers got the deal done.

Teuvo Teravainen scored twice, Arvid Soderblom made 22 saves for his first NHL shutout and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Utah Mammoth 4-0 on Sunday to end a three-game losing streak.

Cale Makar scored twice, Gavin Brindley also had a goal, and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 in Denver on Saturday night.

No matter who won the game Saturday night at Ball Arena, there would’ve been a long list of adjustments made for their next time out.
