Caden Tellier, the 16-year-old quarterback at John T. Morgan Academy in Selma, Alabama, was hurt after a tackle in the third quarter of his school’s season opener against Southern Academy.

Caden weighed 27 pounds at the time of his death, about half what a boy of his age should weigh. He had traces of meth and cocaine in his liver when he died, as well as multiple broken bones.

Caden Tellier, a 16-year-old junior at Morgan Academy in Selma, was hurt following a tackle in the third quarter of the school's game Friday night.
