Golan Heights Plateau in northern Israel captured from Syria in 1967 and annexed in 1981. Known for its beautiful scenery and vineyards.

“While we welcome real peace efforts, we are very clear: any future agreement must recognize Israel's sovereignty over the Golan,” leaders in the Golan Heights noted in a press release.
