Enterobacter cloacae is a Gram-negative bacterium associated with high morbidity and mortality in intensive care patients due to its resistance to multiple antibiotics.
Although relatively little is known about the causes of treatment failures, we show here that they can be mediated by antibiotic-resistant subpopulations in Enterobacter cloacae.
