GPD will release its WIN Max 2 handheld PC later this year. The company recently revealed the pricing of the device on its Indiegogo page.

GPD Win Max 2, the gaming console/mini laptop hybrid, was just extensively tested in both the AMD and the Intel variant -- and the winner is very clear.

Early benchmarks comparing the AMD Ryzen and 12th Gen Core-powered Win Max 2 models look grim for Intel.

But now GPD has phased out both of those models and introduced a new GPD Win Max 2 (2023) with AMD Ryzen 7040U “Phoenix” processor options and several other upgrades.

First unveiled in March, the GPD Win Max 2 is up for pre-order for $999 and up during an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, and the handheld is expected to begin shipping to backers in September, 2022.

Those in the know are paying attention to other PC gaming handhelds like the Ayaneo 2S and GPD’s Win Max 2, and both companies will sell versions of them that feature an Oculink connector.

As spotted by VideoCardz, GPD apologized on its crowdfunding page to customers who ordered its Win Max 2 but have yet to receive the devices.

GPD has announced a new Indiegogo campaign for its upcoming handheld, the GPD Win Max 2. Options include a Intel Core i7-1260p for US$999 and an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor for US$899.

This time, however, GPD acknowledged size limitations and expanded it to 8.9 inches. It was pretty much a larger mini laptop. A leak of the GPD Win Max shows it will merge the two not only in name.
