Many Australians are struggling to find their favourite brand of hot sauce – but some aren’t mourning Huy Fong’s absence in the market.

Enthusiasts soon panicked and began to hoard the stuff. At one point last year resale prices for Huy Fong’s sauce on eBay, an e-commerce site, reached as high as $150 per bottle.

Last week, Huy Fong Foods, which is based in Irwindale, sent a letter to its distributors announcing it was halting production of its sriracha sauce.
